Embark on a 3-day Sapa adventure with options for an overnight bus or train from Hanoi. Explore the stunning landscapes of Y Linh Ho, Lao Chai, and Ta Van villages, trek through terraced rice fields, and learn about the cultures of the Black H’mong and Dzay people. Visit Cat Cat and Sin Chai villages, nestled at the foot of Fansipan Mountain, and experience local traditions. On the final day, enjoy a mountain biking journey through Red Dzao villages. Return to Hanoi after an immersive cultural and scenic experience.
21:00 – 21:30: Our shuttle bus will pick you up from your hotel/hostel in Hanoi Old Quarter and transfer you to the bus station. You'll board a sleeper bus for a 5.5-hour journey to Sapa.
Arrival: You’ll reach Sapa Bus Station around 3:30 – 4:00 AM. You can stay on the bus and rest until 6:00 AM (note: no air conditioning on the bus).
Option 2: Hanoi – Night Train
20:30: A staff member from Indochina Beauty Travel will pick you up from your hotel/hostel in Hanoi Old Quarter and transfer you to Hanoi Train Station.
22:00: Board the night train to Lao Cai (4-berth cabin with A/C – shared). The train departs at 10:00 PM and arrives the next morning at 6:00 AM.
DAY 1: SAPA – Y LINH HO – LAO CHAI – TA VAN (B/L/D)
6:00 AM: Upon arrival at Sapa bus/train station, your tour guide will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel in Sapa. Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.
9:00 AM: Begin a 3 km trek southeast of Sapa along Muong Hoa Valley to Y Linh Ho village of the Black H’mong. Visit a local school and homes, and continue trekking 4 km to Lao Chai village of the H’mong ethnic group.
Picnic Lunch: Have lunch along the way.
After lunch, trek another 4 km through rice terraces to Ta Van village, home to the Dzay minority people. This is an opportunity to learn about local architecture, daily life, and customs.
Return to Sapa by minibus.
Evening: Dinner and free time in Sapa. Overnight at a 3-star hotel.
DAY 2: CAT CAT – SIN CHAI (B/L/D)
9:00 AM: Trek 4 km southwest of Sapa to Cat Cat village, located at the foot of Fansipan Mountain. Learn about traditional clothing, hemp dyeing, and weaving. Visit a stunning waterfall and the remains of a hydroelectric power station built during the French colonial period.
Walk through Muong Hoa Valley for 3 km, passing rice terraces and small homes, until you reach Sin Chai village, located at the base of Fansipan, the highest mountain in Vietnam and Indochina. See traditional homes made from the indigenous Pumu tree.
Return to your hotel by jeep.
Evening: Dinner and free time. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 3: MOUNTAIN BIKING: SAPA – SUOI THAU – MA TRA – TA PHIN – HANOI (B/L/D)
9:00 AM: Start the day with a 5 km bike ride to visit the Red Dzao ethnic people in Suoi Thau and Ma Tra villages. Continue biking 9 km through local villages, passing rice and corn fields.
Picnic Lunch: Enjoy lunch before continuing along mountain biking trails from Ma Tra to Ta Phin village.
Arrive at Ta Phin village, where you'll learn about the Red Dzao people's lifestyle and customs, and enjoy the surrounding landscapes.
Return to Sapa by bus.
Evening: After dinner, you will be transferred to the bus/train station for your journey back to Hanoi.
Travel Notes:
Overnight on the Train: You’ll stay in a soft sleeper 4-berth cabin with A/C (shared cabin).
Overnight on the Bus: You’ll arrive in Hanoi around 3:30 – 4:00 AM. Accommodation is not provided for early arrivals, so you may wish to book an early check-in. Alternatively, you can opt for a day bus departing Sapa at 3:30 PM, arriving in Hanoi at 9:00 PM (dinner not included with this option).
