The Abandoned Valley and E Cave 1-Day Trek is an ideal adventure for travelers who have limited time but still want to experience the raw wilderness of Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park. This journey takes you deep into one of the most pristine jungle areas in Vietnam, combining forest trekking, cave exploration, and swimming in crystal-clear natural springs.
Walking quietly through dense jungle and untouched valleys, you may encounter rare birds or even troops of monkeys living freely in their natural habitat. The highlight of the trip is E Cave, a stunning river cave hidden deep inside the forest, offering a true sense of discovery and adventure.
At 08:00, your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Phong Nha and transfer you to the trekking base, the starting point of the adventure.
Upon arrival, you will join a short briefing session to plan the trip, understand safety rules and regulations inside Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park, and prepare necessary equipment. A light warm-up session will help prepare your body before trekking.
Begin trekking approximately 4 km through the deep forest of Abandoned Valley. The trail passes through dense jungle, rocky terrain, winding rivers, and streams. Along the way, you will encounter a rich cave system including Thuy Cung Cave and Vang Cave, known for their massive and unspoiled stalactite formations and natural beauty.
After about one hour of trekking, you will reach the Golden Cave area. The cave entrance is located halfway up the mountain, requiring you to climb over rocky terrain. Inside Golden Cave, explore giant stalactites and experience adventurous trails with rugged rock formations, offering a thrilling cave exploration experience.
Arrive at Aquarium Cave, also known as E Cave, one of the most beautiful and pristine river caves in Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park. Located in a completely untouched environment, E Cave features crystal-clear blue water and colorful stalactites with fascinating shapes.
Here, you can:
Enjoy a BBQ lunch in the heart of the forest. The meal includes grilled pork or chicken, special local salt, rice or sticky rice, vegetables, fruits, and warm tea after swimming. Relax and rest while surrounded by fresh forest air.
After lunch and rest, begin trekking back toward Ho Chi Minh Road through forest trails and natural landscapes.
Arrive at Ho Chi Minh Road, enjoy a refreshing cold drink and take a short break.
Transfer back to Phong Nha town and drop-off at your hotel. The tour ends after a full day of jungle trekking and cave adventure.
