The Can Gio Day Tour offers a refreshing escape from the busy streets of Ho Chi Minh City to the peaceful coastal district of Can Gio. Recognized as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Can Gio is famous for its extensive mangrove forest ecosystem, wildlife diversity, and historical significance.
On this full-day tour, you will visit Monkey Island, home to more than 1,000 monkeys living in their natural habitat. You will explore the Sac Forest Revolutionary Base, once an important guerrilla stronghold during the Vietnam War, and visit Hoa Ca crocodile farm to see large crocodiles preserved and raised by locals since wartime. The tour also includes a visit to the local seafood market to experience daily coastal life.

07:30 – 08:00: Pickup at your hotel in the center of District 1. Meet your English or Vietnamese-speaking guide and depart for Can Gio.
08:00: Travel to Can Gio by air-conditioned vehicle. The journey includes crossing the river by ferry (round-trip ferry ticket included).
09:00: Arrive at Can Gio and visit Monkey Island. Walk through the mangrove forest and observe more than 1,000 monkeys living freely in their natural environment. Guests can take photos and learn about the biodiversity of the region.
10:00: Visit Hoa Ca Crocodile Farm. See large crocodiles that have been protected and raised by local people since the Vietnam War. Guests may try crocodile fishing as an optional activity (own expense).
10:30 – 11:00: Trek approximately 25 minutes through the mangrove forest to reach the Sac Forest Revolutionary Base, also known as Rung Sac Base, an important guerrilla stronghold during the war.
Alternatively, guests can choose to ride a canoe for approximately 10 minutes to reach the base (canoe expense not included).
At the base, learn about the history of the guerrilla camp built deep in the forest and understand how soldiers survived in this challenging environment.
12:00 – 12:30: Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Taste Southern Vietnamese specialties and relax before continuing the afternoon program.
In the afternoon, continue to visit Can Gio Seafood Market. Explore local seafood stalls and observe daily trading activities of coastal residents. After sightseeing and free time, prepare for departure.
17:00 – 17:30: Return to Ho Chi Minh City.
Drop-off at Ben Thanh Market or the tour office.
